The
Course Structure is the brain of the system, providing
maximum flexibility to teach online. A pull down menu in
the upper left corner permits the retrieval of an existing
course structure, modification and safeguard. The course
structure consists of a table of (up to 25) parameterisable
form elements (name, format, input-screen, output-screen).
The course structure provides, for each parameterisable
field:
a) A Field Name: like lesson_id, possibly followed
by options, separated by semi-colons
b) A Format: Representing the HTML form element used
to display the field: - text, a single line text element
- textarea, a multi line text area - option, a pull-down
menu to select an element - radio, consisting of a set of
exclusive radio buttons - checkbox, represented as a selection
box - link, a URL with the link name - role, used in MultiMedia
RolePlays - audio, a URL with the link name pointing to
a sound file - doc, used in MultiMedia RolePlays - image,
a URL pointing to a graphic file - note, a textarea target
of a Note (used in the Learner-Trainer Interaction screen)
c) An Entry: To specify where the data is entered,
including: - Lesson - The Lesson Screen - Input - The Learner-Trainer
Interaction screen for the Learner - Feedback - The Learner-Trainer
Interaction screen for the Trainer - Roleplay - The RolePlay
screen (used in MultiMedia) - LessonT - this option has
been reimplemented as a Resource - Inline - allows data
selection on the Control Panel (for exemple: status)
d) A Display: To specify where the data is displayed,
including: - Index - The Control Panel - Lesson - The Lesson
Screen - Dictionary - The Dictionary
Click on CONFIRM to save
the new Course Structure.
